Young neighbors helping older neighbors!

Welcome to CommonCourtesyTM

a project that links seniors with younger neighbors who are "on their way" and are willing to be notified that "they need a ride".
(New Viewers to our site!
Please note that this is our introductory website and that we are currently building a more fully functional website for you to interact with in the future.

In the meantime, we hope that you will learn what you can about us from this basic format, and continue to come back and watch as we improve.
Please visit our Volunteer Registration page and sign up to help. Or we hope that you will also go to our Volunteering Page and find out how easy it is to contribute to support our mission. )

Our Overview Briefing!

 What are the Facts?

We provide a matching system that creates a connection between a database of elderly citizens in need of vehicle transportation, with a database of available drivers within the close proximate locations of pick-up and drop-off.

How does it work?

Our system provides a repeatable infrastructure to:

  • Receive contact from seniors in need of personal transportation
  • Contact network of locally available, eligible drivers
  • Align driver assignment and contact senior with confirmation
  • Follow / track delivery status and confirm delivery completion

Who are the Personnel Involved?

A small internal salaried staff implements and manages the system

Administrative volunteers provide internal support and community marketing

Community "volunteer / participating neighbors" drive personal cars on route to daily activities

Corporate, Retail and Government funding will provide support

and...All will within a community will benefit!

Why do we see the Need?

  1. Growing age of our overall census population
  2. Growing risk to senior citizens to navigating streets and traffic
  3. Growing risk to good drivers  who encounter  senior with dimenished operators' skills and abilities
  4. Ability to provide continuation of "quality of life" longevity to seniors
  5. Ability to connect lost generational relationships

Comments from our participants:

"This is just a wonderful service! You don't know how much it means to me to get out and get my hair done so often." Senior

"This was so easy for me to do and I feel so good about doing it! I think that I found a new best friend in my rider." Driver

"You are our angel!" Senior to Driver

"The ride was so easy to do! I just ran my own errands after I dropped of the senior rider."

The irony of our changing times is that females are now the primary drivers in the 65+ age category. This is after years of being a passenger and often times having become unfamiliar with both the automobile and the road traffic and conditions that exist!
